My idea for project one is to focus on the future of pollution and the impact on the environment. I would like to somehow show various types of pollution all together (air, water, light, etc.). Another idea I had for this project is to focus on the future impacts of overconsumption. My idea for this is to show how we're draining all of Earth's natural resources and possibly include the expansion of large factories/companies. I also think that I could potentially combine this idea with the future of pollution.
One movie that has inspired this idea was the movie Wall-E. This movie showed a future in which pollution got so bad that the Earth was uninhabitable. This is close to what I was thinking about showing with trash piled up high and thick smog in the air, but my idea was to still have people living in it.
Nice ideas, Emily. It's important to understand the impact our individual choices have on the larger environment. As you point out, over-consumption and environmental degradation go hand in hand. Not only do we consume more, once our possessions break or become unfashionable, we're more likely to trash than fix, sell or donate them. I'm looking forward to seeing where this leads you.
